The Central African Republic (the C.A.R.) is a landlocked country located in the very centre of Africa.
The local Bantu, Chadic and Sudanic people over-run most of the Pigmys in circa 900- 1000AD. The CAR then became part of the French colonie of Equitorial Arica and then the seperate colonies of Ubangui Chari. It gained indipendence in 1960, 2 years befor WW3.
The south is rainforested, the north is savana and the rest is rainforest and wetter types of grassland. Mostly by horse or river boat on the Oubangui River, due to the absence of oil. Alco-fule exsists. It is a founding member the Central African Regional Organization of Military and Economic Cooperation (CAROMEC).
It is agrarian by naure the economy is based on minor subsistance agriculture, but has diamonds, gold, iron, wood, cotton and bananas. The crops grown are mostly for subsistence level they make littel profit. However, cotton and timber industries and diamond mining has the potential of becoming a very lucrative business.
Political instabilaty and coruption would plague the country as would malaria and dengue feaver. A series of droughts have often put the population in risk of starvation.
The roads west to Sudan and north to Chad are poorly maintained.
World War 3Edit
The country, like Africa as a whole, was not nuked in WW3. Radiation sickness also failed to take hold, but a drought and famin did occer in 1964.

The Central African Republic's President François Bozizé fled to Kinshasaland after Islamic rebel forces captured the nation's capital, Bangui on March 24, 2013 after 2 years of bitter guerrilla warfare. The Islamist grip on power is weak and maintained by a rule of terror and heavily armed Chadian mercenaries.
The 5 fortified tribal states of the Mbandaka-Baringa-Ikela-Basankusu-Boende Equatorial confederacy (also known as the 5 Equatorial Cities' confederacy, Gabon, Congo (Brazzaville) and Kinshasaland have all sent forces to the nation to help topple the unwanted dictator. The fight back is slow going, but has now turned in favor of Christian/Animist government in exile.
