He is famous for the Mafiya film series, where he starred in eleven out of its sixteen installments, from Mafiya (1991) until Mafiya: The Last Stand (2014), usually alongside Mark Vizinsky, Matvey Rasapinsky and Karl Khristenko.

Maryanov has also directed and produced several successful movies, such as the Crazy Dancin' film series, on the first film of which he was the lead actor, alongside Borislava Porsenko.

Birth and early life[]

Ivan Glebovich Maryanov was born in Botovsky, Maryanov on November 26, 1970 to actor Gleb Maryanov (b. 1939) and Botovsky Vice Mayor Radoslava Glebova (b. 1941), born sixth out of nine siblings. His father is the grandson of Juan Maryanov, and his mother is the granddaughter of Agustin Sankt Pavlov. His older brothers Konrad Maryanov (born January 5, 1959) and Faddey Maryanov (born September 18, 1963) are both acclaimed actors; his older brother Vladislav Maryanov (born March 1, 1961), and younger sister Ana Maryanova (born February 29, 1972) are both prominent politicians in the Maryanov province, and his youngest brothers Ilya (born August 26, 1976) and Kazimir Maryanov (September 13, 1974 — December 30, 2001) are both successful musicians.

Originally going to pursue politics like his ancestors, Maryanov started to develop a liking for acting when he was cast for a commercial of Addidas shoes in 1988. Shortly before graduating from college, Maryanov accepted a major role in the movie Mafiya in 1990, where it became a hit by its release in 1991.

Acting Career[]

Personal Life[]

In 1992, at the age of 22, Maryanov married actress-model Markunda Movyocheva after only six months of dating. The couple eventually separated in 1996 after three years of marriage, and Maryanov filed for divorce, which was finalized on August 18, 1996. The two parted in good terms and remained friends until Movyocheva eventually died in January 1998.

From that point, Maryanov kept his love life private, until he married his non-showbiz girlfriend, Maria Gregoriyevskaya, in late 2000. They were married for four years, until they decided to part ways in 2005. Maryanov admitted that the main reason they broke up is that he didn't want kids, but she did. Gregoriyevskaya filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, which both signed almost simultaneously. The divorce was finalized in April 23, 2005.

He met actress Irina Rasapinskaya in 2009 on the set of Criminal Strike, when she came to the set to support her brother Matvey Rasapinsky, who was one of Maryanov's co-stars in the film. However, they didn't start dating until 2011, and they reportedly got engaged around April 2014, while celebrating Rasapinskaya's 35th birthday. Maryanov and Rasapinskaya got married on June 30, 2015 and settled in Maryanov's house in Botovsky. They have a son together, Ivan Ivanovich (born May 6, 2016).
