The republic poseses several footbal, cricket asnd rugby teams. It also has a basketball team and plays host to the National Hunt horse race. The national sports are Football and Rugby.

The first Culture, media and sport minister was the Federal Labour MP for West Bromwich East, (OTL) Tom Watson. Arthur Ramsbottom his sucsesser as both a local Federal Labour MP and minister is Arthur Ramsbottom.

Horse racingEdit

Hereford Racecourse is a traditional National Hunt and continued to be used as such after 2000, despite of a 2002 British government complaint to the Jockey’s' Association over the matter.


The Worcester Warriors, Malvern RFC, Pontypool Rugby Football Club, Ebbw Vale RLFC, Blaenavon RFC and Stourbridge Rugby Club are the nation's 6 Rugby Union teams.


The Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Bromsgrove Cricket Club, Herefordshire County Cricket Club and Lye Town Cricket Club are the 4 national cricket teams.

The MCC has sofar chosen not to take action against Gloucestershire County Cricket Club after its sanctions busting 1998 and 2005 cricket maches with Herefordshire County Cricket Club (which Gloucestershire wone on eacch occasion).
